Commitment to Environmental Stewardship
Environmental, health, and safety (HSE) management objectives are intrinsically linked to VOSTOK ENERGYA TOO's overall development strategy. Enhanced environmental responsibility stands as one of the core pillars of the Company's Strategy‑2030. To that end, the Group has identified several key priorities: reducing greenhouse gas emissions and flaring, managing water resources responsibly, minimizing production waste, reclaiming disturbed land, and improving energy efficiency.    

A revised Environmental Policy took effect in 2021, updated to ensure full compliance with Kazakhstan's new Environmental Code. The updated policy strengthens systems for the collection, accumulation, storage, analysis, and transmission of environmental data. It also broadens the Company's obligations regarding the responsible use of natural resources and the observance of conservation measures. Complementing this, the Health and Safety Policy—grounded in top management's unwavering dedication to occupational health and well‑being—actively promotes employee involvement in fostering a robust safety culture across all operations.   

Safety and Loss Prevention    
Safety is embedded in every stage of the refining process and is a non‑negotiable requirement for both employees and contractors. VOSTOK ENERGYA TOO firmly believes that all accidents and injuries are preventable and recognizes that superior safety practices are critical to sustaining long‑term business success.  

  To prevent losses and manage risks comprehensively, the Company employs an integrated approach that addresses all HSE, environmental health (EH), and quality assurance engineering (QAE) issues under a unified HSEQ framework. Central to this effort is the promotion of an Incident and Injury‑Free (IIF) working culture, driven by genuine care and mutual concern among all personnel. Employees and contractors are encouraged to voice safety‑related concerns through regular meetings with senior management, ensuring that communication remains open and proactive.   

In addition, VOSTOK ENERGYA TOO actively involves its workforce and subcontractors in behavior‑based safety initiatives. Through peer review and mutual observation, every employee is empowered to take ownership not only of their own safety and well‑being but also of that of their colleagues—reinforcing a shared commitment to a secure and responsible workplace.
